Special moment in history

Today is the anniversary of the 16th Street Church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama. In reading about the sick S.O.B.''s and their motives, and the devastation the bombing caused, I came across a remarkable story about a very brave man.

His name was Clyde Kennard.

Growing up in the 60's and 70's in Central Illinois, I confess to being clueless about the Civil Rights Movement. Movies like Mississippi Burning and Ghosts of Mississippi intrigued me greatly, though they were still movies. Clyde Kennards story is real. Take the time to read about him. www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clyde_Kennard

  1. This was interesting Dad. I always think it's neat to read about forgotten "heroes." Thanks for introducing me to Ghosts in the Darkness....it remains one of my favs.
